This is a nicely shaped pair of book-matched live edge black walnut slabs, with rich color and beautiful grain. There is an ingrown-bark seam (not a split; seams are much more stable than splits) that would be an attractive feature of a two-piece dining tabletop, once the seam is cleaned and filled with black accent epoxy.
There are several different configurations of this pair of slabs that would work for a two-piece dining tabletop, whether it be a solid bookmatched tabletop, or a wood-epoxy resin tabletop seen in example images below. You can go with the symmetrical bookmatched option shown in the first image below, or, you can invert the reverse side of the slab on the right to have a balanced, 'yin yang' type of design, as shown in the example finished table below.
